The Annual Asia-Pacific Excellence Awards (APEA) is a prestigious international tribute to world-class consumer products and achievers founded by Japanese-Chinese educator and civic leader Dr. Seiji Yii-Kagawa, international evangelist Rev. Sonia Y. Lim, journalist-civic leader Jonathan Nazareno-Navea, broadcaster Jerry Dy-Go and the late educator-author Prof. Urbano S. Reyes in 1992. APEA has been staged in various Asian countries, the latest of which was in Shenzhen, China and Singapore organized by the ASIA-PACIFIC AWARDS COUNCIL (APAC) jointly with MEDIAPOWER SERVICES as event and production manager.

Adding glitters to the event are the holding of the ASIAN STAR ENTERTAINER AWARD (ASEA) for top Asian entertainers in the fields of arts, theater and allied performing arts, and the ASIAN TOP ACHIEVER AWARD (ATAA) for outstanding professionals in business, entertainment, public & humanitarian services, sports, education, media & journalism, medicine & allied sciences and other major fields based in any of the countries within the Asia-Pacific Region. |
AWARDS CRITERIA & EVALUATION
OUTSTANDING CONSUMERS PRODUCTS AND COMPANIES are selected through open public and online IT nomination followed by random consumer survey and research are conducted by the Asia-Pacific Awards Council and the APEA Awards Committee, with the following CRITERIA: (1) Product Features or Quality - 35%; (3) Consumers Opinion Survey - 20%; (2) World-Class Brand Appeal - 25%; and (4) Pricing - 20%
The ASIAN TOP STAR ENTERTAINER AWARD and the ASIAN TOP ACHIEVER AWARD are chosen based on the significant achievements of the individuals in entertainment and other specific fields related to their respective professional categories.

NOTE: The Award Logos of both the APEA Consumers Award and the APEA Top Asian Achiever Award may be used interchangeably in all award categories, except for the Asian Top Star Entertainer Award which is used for a specific category.
PROJECT BENEFICIARIES
The proceeds of the project will benefit the Youth Scholarship & Livelihood Program and the Cultural Exchange Project of the Asia-Pacific Awards Council (APAC). Corporate and individual sponsorships and donations are also earmarked to finance the preparation of the event, as well as the printing of the Asia-Pacific Excellence Awards Yearbook, airing of the delayed TV special, media promotions and the publication of the newspaper supplements commemorating the event.
